The State of Indiana offers the Choice Scholarship Program to help eligible Hoosier families choose and afford the most appropriate education for their child(ren). St. Joan of Arc Catholic School is certified to participate in this scholarship program. To be eligible for an Indiana Choice Scholarship, families must live in Indiana and meet income guidelines to qualify (see Indiana Choice Scholarship Program (Income Guidelines). For the Indiana Choice Scholarship, amounts awarded depend on the school district in which the family/student resides. For townships that make up our St. Joan of Arc Catholic School community, below are the 2023-24 Indiana Choice Scholarship amounts that each qualified student will receive. The amounts awarded to the townships can vary each school year.

The Institute for Quality Education Scholarships are available funds generously donated by St. Joan of Arc Catholic School benefactors through a Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO). To be eligible for the SGO, families must live in Indiana and meet income guidelines to qualify. Families that are eligible for the Indiana Choice Scholarship will also be eligible for The Institute for Quality Education Scholarship (SGO). Any donation made to a SGO designated for St. Joan of Arc Catholic School will be applied directly to the cost of tuition for incoming or existing students who qualify. SGO scholarship amounts are based on funds available and can vary each school year.

All donations to SGOs are eligible for a 50% state tax credit that allows donors to minimize state taxes paid for this year’s income. IQE will send you a tax credit letter to use for tax filing purposes. Reminder, Tax Credits can reduce the amount of tax you owe or increase your tax refund.
In addition, the donation is eligible for a federal tax deduction based on your eligibility. There is no IRS correspondence regarding these types of donations, rather you would substantiate just like any other charitable donation. Reminder, Tax Deductions can reduce the amount of your income before you calculate the tax you owe.
